Junior, a beautiful nine-year-old boy with a head of luxurious dark curls, lives with his single mother in a run-down apartment. He doesn't play football with other kids, dislikes his curls and dreams of being photographed as a pop star with straightened hair. Fearing that Junior's preening and fussing over his appearance are signs of him being gay, his worried mother sets out to "correct" his condition...
